Linda Louise Passmore Myers, 84 of East Smithfield, PA went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully in her home.
Born on March 14, 1934 in Columbia Cross Roads to Burdette and Katherine (Kingsley) Passmore, she was delivered by her grandfather Dr. Harry Kingsley of East Smithfield.
Linda was a graduate of SRU High School in East Smithfield. She attended Mansfield University in Mansfield, PA. She was a women who took pride in offering counseling, compassion and guidance to all. She had many interests which included farming, nature, and health care, was an eternal optimist and remained steadfast in her love for her Lord. She was a devoted Christian who was a leader in her church. She was an active member for over 63 years at Calvary Baptist Church. She was a pianist, Sunday school teacher, AWANA leader, and a deaconess, she served with family and community on various committees and boards over the years. She enjoyed devoting her time to raising her children, was a wonderful mother to her boys, their wives and families. An avid reader, lover of books and gardening. She spent her final years in her greenhouse.
Linda was survived by her four sons, Joel (Melinda) Myers, East Smithfield, Kerry Myers, East Smithfield, Kevin (Heather) Myers, Gillett, and Derin (Julie) Myers, Gettysburg, grandchildren Arielle Sargent, Kyle (April) Myers, Ginevra Myers, Kory Myers, Issac Myers and great grandchildren Mason, Rosalina, Lucas, and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was predeceased by her parents and her sons John and Mark Myers.
A celebration of her life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Athens, PA on Saturday, January 19 with visitation at 1pm and the service starting at 2pm.
