Barbara Ann (Nittinger) Moore

Barbara Ann Moore of South Waverly, PA, passed away peacefully in her home, on Sunday, October 9, 2023, at the age of 90.  She is survived by her three children and their spouses and her dog, Toby.  Betsy (Gary) Douglas of Pensacola, FL, Jim (Shannon) Moore of Sayre, Jeff (Amy) Moore of Waverly, NY.  Her pride and joy were her six grandchildren.  Ellary Douglas, LeeAnn (Shawn) Dean, Adam Moore, Emily Moore, Caleb Moore, Lucas Moore, and one great-grandchild, Wilson Dean.  She was predeceased in death by her husband James Moore and daughter Nancy Moore Douglas, a sister Mary Morningstar, and brother James Nittinger.

Barbara was born in Williamsport, PA, on June 8, 1933.  The Nittinger family moved to Sayre, PA when she was six.  She went to school and graduated from Sayre High School.  Barbara married the love of her life on October 12, 1957.  She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister to all who were near.  She enjoyed golfing with her husband and often reminded him that she was the only one to get “a hole in one".  Barbara loved to garden and cook for her family.  After her husband passed away she would play cards with her friends and take her beloved dog Toby for his morning walks in the park.  Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, sisters , brothers, and many nieces & nephews.   

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to a Humane Society of your choosing.  There will be a mass at the Epiphany Church on October 20, 2023, at 9:30 am.  Burial to follow at Tioga Point Cemetery.  At Barabara’s request there will be no calling hours.  Arrangements have been entrusted to The Thomas Cremation and Funeral Service, 1297 Elmira St. Sayre, Pa.
