Beverly ‘Bev’ Elaine Frieri (née Solomon), 77, of Sayre, PA, passed away on April 2, 2025.
Bev was born on February 25, 1948, in Waltham, MA, to Natalie and Milton Solomon. Beverly was a born artist, living at the time in New York City, performing on stage and television, as well as creating art in all its forms. Beverly dabbled in playwriting, directing, sculpting, painting, and towards the end of her life writing children’s books.
A lover of animals, Bev found work as a vet technician in the ‘70s, which spawned a lifelong love of animals. Over the course of her life, Bev would be the fur-mom to over 30 lucky pets.
She was also the mother of four daughters, who became artists in their own right because of her influence. She was always the coolest mom; sporting tattoos and dyed hair before it was in fashion. She was responsible for piercing the ears of every Cabbage Patch Kid on the block and sneaking candy into movie theaters at a time when they checked your bags.
In 1994, Bev started her second chapter when she married her soulmate, Frank Frieri. Bev and Frank would spend the next 30 years together watching British crime dramas, pondering life’s mysteries, and being madly in love. Later in life, Bev and Frank published five children’s books together, which connected them in a new, creative way. When Bev became suddenly ill, Frank was by her bedside every day, holding her hand and reading her books to her.
Beverly was the most strikingly beautiful, wonderfully weird, and smartest person in the room.
Hard stop.
Beverly is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Frieri; her daughters Rachael (Lubarsky), Abby (Koenig), and Elly (Monroe), as well as her sister Hava (Martin). Beverly was preceded in death by her daughter Sarah, whom she loved dearly. Beverly had seven beautiful grandchildren: Eli, Max, Reuben, Levi, Jackson, Abe, and Autumn. Her dogs Maggie and Rockee miss her too.
She will be greatly missed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of The Thomas Cremation and Funeral Service, 1297 Elmira St., Sayre, Pa.
