Charles (Charlie) E. Pond ,68, of Barton, NY, formerly of Litchfield, Pa., passed away on August 19, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. He had a very courageous battle with cancer.
Charlie was born to his parents Howard and Florance Hoyles Pond on September 21, 1955, in Virginia. He graduated from Sayre High School in 1974. He retired after many years from Stroehmann's Bakery in Sayre, Pa.
Charlie had a love of racing at many dirt tracks throughout the area. He loved to camp and fish. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Charlie was known for his "awesome "dump truck, as he had a garbage route for many years. He enjoyed working in his garage as well as out and about doing many different jobs for anyone who asked. He would offer a helping hand to anyone at any time.
Charlie was predeceased by his father and mother and his brother Ken Pond.
He is survived by his brothers Jack Pond of Sayre and Gary (Luanne) Pond of Montana. He has three daughters: Christy Hartman (Lee) of Nicols, NY, Terri Quinn (Mark) of Sayre and Pam Marshall (Shane) of Barton, NY. Charlie has five grandsons and two granddaughters and four great grandchildren, along with a few nephews and nieces.
A graveside service is planned for Saturday August 31, 2024 at 11AM at Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, Pa.
