Cilene Delaney-Rolfe Obituary

Thy will be done! On Sunday January 14, 2024, our Cilene Jan fought (fiercely) her final earthly battle. She now begins her new chapter being with her loved ones, who passed before her, including her grandparents Chris and Ruby, her mother Nancy, brother-in-law Bill, aunt Winnie, Cousin Neal, father-in-law Don, sister-in-law Tammy, and most recently her good friend Keith. Rest assured she is preparing to greet "us", when our time comes.

As unique as her name, Cilene was a "Delaney" through and through. She had the "gift of gab". She was stubborn, feisty, and quite opiniated (you knew exactly where you stood with her). She definitely did it HER WAY. Cilene also had a soft side, she was loyal, and she loved (deeply) "Her people"(both human and the furry kind). She seemed to be always there when you needed help. Numerous "throw away cats" benefited from her kind heart over the years.

Born August 24, 1960, Cilene graduated from Athens High school (the mighty, mighty, Bulldogs), the class of 1978. After high school, she graduated from Elmira Business Insititute. She held various jobs during her lifetime including GTE Sylvania, Burger King, Fays Drugs, Sayre High School, Robert Packer Hospital Emergency Room, Best Buy Warehouse, Home Heathcare and finally Horns True Value before becoming ill. She was the co-owner of the former Rolfe's Butcher Block with her husband Steve.

She was not a "stick in the mud". Cilene was one of those people who squeezed thirty hours out of a twenty-four-hour day. Cilene was a builder (loved her power tools), a gardener/landscaper (loved getting dirty-creating beauty). She loved reading, loved to cook, / bake (trying out new recipes), loved to shop, loved her music (the louder--- the better). Her "happy place was enjoying her crystal-clear swimming pool---going barefoot(always). She was truly " A SUN-SHINE GIRL"

Cilene is survived by her husband (best friend)/biggest fan" of over forty years Stephen, her beloved brother Tracy, uncles Gerald and Vernon, aunt Pearl, cousins Terry, Kathy, Jackie, Lonnie, Steve, Vernie, Jon and Lori, mother-in-law Beverly, brothers-in-law Mike, Jeff, and Todd, her fur babies Ian, Finn, Bliss, Happy, Cassidy, and Peanut.

No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life is "in the works" for June.  The best way to honor Cilene Jan's life----Consider making a donation to your favorite animal charity!

We were blessed to have had her in our lives!
