Connie R. Bentley, 77, of Athens Township passed away at the RPH on 1/27/25 after an extended illness. Born on 11/19/47 in Sayre, PA. Daughter of Robert L. Babcock and Margaret E. Mott. She married William J. Bentley III on April 3, 1968, in Athens by Justice of the Peace Kenneth Mead.
She graduated from Sayre High School, class of 1965. Throughout the years she enjoyed shopping, rummage sales, crocheting, bowling, reading romance novels, trips to Mormon Lake, Watkins Glen racetrack, and watching her favorite soap opera “Days of Our Lives”. More importantly she enjoyed good times with family and friends. She worked in the field of banking with 1st National Bank in the Sayre office.
She is survived by daughter Brandy and sons Shawn & Melody of S. Waverly & Shane of Athens township. Brother in-law & sister in-law Christopher & Diane Bentley of S. Waverly. Sister in-law Cheryl Markle of Baldwinsville, NY. Sister Sally Babcock of Florida. Brothers Jack and Sue Babcock of Waverly, NY and Randy Babcock of S. Waverly. Two step grandsons Joey and Jessica Robinson of Canton, PA and Billy and Kristi Robinson of Dushore, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband William J. Bentley III., Her parents, mother and father in-law Eleanor & William J. Bentley Jr., brother Robert Babcock, brother in-law Gary Markle, sister in-law Tracy Bentley.
A Celebration of Life for Connie Bentley will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025 from
2pm – 7pm at the South Waverly Borough Hall 2523 Pennsylvania Ave. S. Waverly at
the Pavilion.
This will be a time to share memories, laughter, and love as we honor Connie’s life. We
welcome all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering the joy she brought into
this world. Food and beverages will be provided.
