Coralie T. (Rosekrans) Vaughn

 Coralie T. Rosekrans Vaughn, 93, formerly of Chemung, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by
her family on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 12pm - 2pm on Saturday, May 11, at the United Methodist
Church, 118 S. Main St., Athens, PA where her funeral service will be held at 2pm with Pastor Dan Burgess
officiating. Burial will take place at the Chemung Cemetery, North St., Chemung, NY at a later date at the
convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America,
PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA, 18901, and Stray Haven Humane Society, 194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY
14892.

Born on April 25, 1931, in Burdett, NY, to the late Lawrence E. & Mildred A. (Pierson) Rosekrans; she lived
most of her life in Chemung. She graduated from Cato-Meridian H.S. in 1949. Coralie loved being home to
raise her children. She worked in food service for the Waverly School District for 23 years, retiring from the
Chemung School in June of 2000.

Coralie was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Chemung, where she was involved with
church dinners and the food pantry. She loved going to yard sales, and the annual Rosekrans Family Reunion,
but her favorite activity was spending time with her family.

On February 14, 1953, she married the love of her life, the late Arthur F. Vaughn in Auburn, NY.
She is dearly loved and will be forever missed by her children: Roger (Linda) Vaughn of Port Sanilac, MI;
Douglas (Karen) Vaughn of Waverly, NY; Colleen (Joseph) Shaw of Livonia, NY; Susan Prior of Dundee, NY;
and Gregory (Jennifer) Vaughn of Chemung, NY; her grandchildren: Chad (Megan) Vaughn, Brent (Maria
Quagliana) Vaughn, Kevin (Monya) Vaughn, Ashley (Greg) Dodge, Erica (Maria Seewaldt) Shaw, Chelsea
Shaw, Nathan Prior, Reagan & Elizabeth Vaughn; her great-grandchildren: Brady Vaughn, Mason, Maddox, 
Paulina Vaughn, Coralie ; Silas Vaughn, and Rune Shaw-Seewaldt; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and 12 siblings, she was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Arthur Vaughn in
1992, and her son-in-love, Craig Prior in 2022.

On behalf of Coralie and her family, a special thank you is extended to all of the angelic caregivers at Elderwood
Nursing Home: the medical staff, the Rehab Unit, the Memory Care Unit, the 3rd floor angels, and those in
Activities. Our heartfelt thanks for treating our Mom (& Grandma) like family.
