Obituary for David D (Sammy)Rinebold

David D Rinebold, 85, of Sayre, PA, died peacefully at home with his loving wife of almost
60 years by his side after an extended illness.

David was born in 1939 on December 4th to his parents Edith and Daniel Rinebold. He
grew up in Standing Stone Township with his brother Richard Rinebold. He graduated
from Towanda Area High School in 1957. He later enlisted in the Marines. He was proud
to be a marine. After honorable discharge he returned home where he would put down
roots and start a family. He would marry the former Barbara Hitchcock. They would go
on to start a farm and family.

He retired after 25 years at GTE Sylvania . After his
retirement he went on to open a very popular “watering hole”,Sammys,in Wysox, Pa.
Those who knew him knew his nickname was Sam. Barb and Dave had many
successful years at Sammy's. People still ask about the Sammy burger and French fries
till this day. He would always deliver food didn’t matter what time of day, wherever the
location he would bring it to you. He always said "I can get in the White House,all I have
to do is say I have food."

He held various positions after his retirement from the
restaurant industry. Most all of them had to do with cars and driving.
He loved to hunt. People came from far and wide to hunt with him in his hunting gang
called Peeper Hollow. He also loved farming, filling silo, spot lighting and just plain being
a good friend to everyone. If you needed something everyone in Wysox knew, just go
see Dave.

He was a loyal member of the Odd Fellows, Moose Lodge, Free Mason, Elks Club,
Wysox Fire Department along many other things along the way.

David is survived by his brother Richard Rinebold of Sayre, Pa, his wife Barbara
Rinebold of Sayre, his 4 children Michelle Lane (Randy) of Wysox ,Pa, Michael Rinebold of
Reading, Pa, Laurie Benjamin of Sayre,Pa,Lisa Lanterman of Chemung, NY, grandchildren
Joseph (Beth) Thomas of Sayre, Pa, Chase (Alysa) Benjamin of Sayre, Pa, and Dustin
(Jessica)Lanterman. Also, a great grandchild Aislynn Thomas.

He was also preceded in death
by his extended family John Mowry , sister-in-law Lucille Rinebold and many other
valued friends.
