On August 9, 2024, Donald (Frank) Barrowcliff Sr., loving husband, father and pap-pap went to his
forever home, at the age of 79, surrounded by his family. He was born September 16, 1944, to George
and Rose (Adams) Barrowcliff in Sayre, PA.
Frank was a 1962 graduate of Athens High School (go Bulldogs). He served in the United States Navy
aboard the USS Little Rock from 1962-1965. Frank completed his basic training during the summer
before his senior year in high school and began active duty upon graduation. He retired from Sylvania in
May 2001 after 35 years of employment.
Frank married the love of his life, Patricia (Driesbaugh), on March 26,1965, at the Ulster United
Methodist Church and enjoyed 59 ½ years of marriage. They raised two sons, Donald and Kyle. He was
an avid hunter. Frank loved working with his hands, repairing and building things. He enjoyed family
fishing vacations to Canada. He made many trips to Colorado to visit family and go to Rocky Mountain
National Park in the Fall, to see the elk and hear them bugling. Frank and Pat traveled extensively across
the United Stated, Canada and Mexico.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, George A. and his mother, Rose. In addition, his siblings that
preceded him were Joyce (Bob) Stodart, George D. (Sonny), Lois (Harvey)Twigg, Harvey, Merton, and
Dixie Kepner. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Ruth
Driesbaugh and brother-in-law Gary.
Frank is survived by his wife Pat, two sons Don and Kyle (Debbie), four grandsons Justin (Jayna), Ryan,
Brandon and Ian, plus two great grandsons Cayson and Colden. He is also survived by his sister Nellie
(Sam) Franklin, sisters-in- law Norma and Linda Barrowcliff and Lenora (Jim) Lantz.
Uncle “Crank” as he
was often called was loved by many nieces and nephews for his quick wit and willingness to lend a hand.
Family and friends may attend a celebration of life at the Ulster Fire Hall on Saturday, August 24,2024,
1:00-4:00 p.m. to honor Frank. The Ulster Fire Hall is located at Rescue St, Ulster, PA. A private burial will
be held for immediate family at another time at the Sheshequin Cemetery, Sheshequin PA.
