Donna Lura Slater

Donna Lura Bovee Slater, age 79, of Athens, PA, passed away at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, on June 9, 2025.

Donna was born on October 6, 1945, in Waverly, NY, at Tioga General Hospital, to Richard and Beatrice (Sager) Bovee. She attended Spencer-Van Etten High School and later studied at beauty school in Syracuse, NY. Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She worked as a dedicated hairdresser for 47 years, continuing until she was no longer physically able. She will be remembered for her strong will, fierceness, and passion.

Donna is survived by her son, David Rosh; granddaughter, Kelsi (Rosh) Jenkins (Briar Jenkins); great-granddaughter, Elora Jenkins; and sisters, Margaret (Bovee) Huhta and Lettie (Bovee) Koski.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bovee; mother, Beatrice (Sager) Bovee; and sisters, Bettie (Bovee) Frew and Janice (Bovee) Richards.

There will be no public service, and no donations are requested.
