Marilynne C. (Nesbitt) Zeafla

Marilynne C. (Nesbitt) Zeafla, 80, of Sayre, PA passed away June 7, 2025, at home peacefully surrounded
by her family after a 10-month battle with cancer. She was born in Corning, NY to the late Clarence and
Caroline (Hamlin) Nesbitt on 12/11/1944, where she graduated from Corning Free Academy and
attended Corning Community College.

She lived the majority of her life in Athens and Sayre, PA, where she raised her family and became
actively involved with the Valley United Presbyterian Church. Her faith in the Lord was an integral part of
her life.

She retired from Clinic Pharmacy in Sayre. She also worked brief periods of time at the Athens Animal
Clinic in the 1970’s and the Snyder Elementary School cafeteria in the 1980’s. In her younger years, she
spent many summers at the family cottage on Keuka Lake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jack of Chicago, IL and twin sister
Marianne (Tom) Rumsey of Charlottesville, VA. She is survived by her husband Stuart of Sayre, brother,
William of Canandaigua, NY; sister-in-law Waneta (James) Crawford, Tucson AZ; son David of Syracuse,
NY; daughter Karen (David) Conklin of Sayre; grandchildren Tyler, Jenna, Dylan and Sylar; two great-
grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Valley United Presbyterian Church, 459 Park Avenue, Waverly, NY
on July 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the
family.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the memorial fund at Valley United Presbyterian Church.
The family would like to thank the medical and nursing staffs at Guthrie Medical Center and Guthrie
Hospice who provided such great care in her final days.
