Michelle Smith, age 63, died after courageously fighting a battle with cancer at her
home surrounded by her loving family on February 12, 2025.
She was born August 23, 1961, in the Village of Waverly to Nancy Cain and the late
William Lattimer. She attended and graduated from Sayre High School. She was united
in marriage to Ronald Smith in Sayre, PA. She was a member of the Epiphany Parish.
Upon her graduation she worked at the John Cocco Insurance Agency. She was a self
employed business owner of Stuff So Simple. For the past several years she dedicated
her time volunteering at the Lynch-Bustin Elementary School. She made a meaningful
impact with her kindness and generosity.
Her greatest joys in life were her daughter and grandchildren, who affectionally gave
her the name BB. She adored them beyond measure. She treasured every moment
spent with them watching them, sharing laughter, and offering her love and wisdom.
Her presence in their lives was a blessing and her love will remain with them always.
She will always be their number one fan.
One of BB’s greatest traditions was her
annual vacation to the beach. She found peace and joy in the sound of the waves, the
warmth of the sun, and the simple pleasures of time spent by the shore with her family.
Michelle is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ronald; her daughter Alycia (Kevin)
Wheeler; her two grandchildren Addyson and Kamdyn; her mother Nancy Cain; two
sisters Karen Midgley, Cheryl Cain, and brother W. Brett Lattimer (Georgi); brother-in-
laws David (Missy) Smith, Jim (Sue) Smith, and sister-in-law Susan (Wayne) Jones. She
is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and close friends whom she considered
her family.
Michelle’s warmth, strength, and loving spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will continue to shine
in the hearts of all who knew her.
