Patricia L. Houseknecht, 80,of Springfield Township passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at
her home surrounded by her family. Patricia was born on September 24, 1945, in Williamsport, PA to
Herbert and Dorothy Fink. She graduated from Montoursville High School and married the love of her
life, Charles F. Houseknecht. The couple married on February 27, 1965, and had 54 happy years
together before his passing in 2019.
Patricia “Pat” leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and quiet strength. She was a
remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family and home. Alongside her husband, she
worked tirelessly on the family farm, offering unwavering support through long days and changing
seasons. Together, they built not only a livelihood, but a life grounded in perseverance, care, and
love.
A devoted mother, she raised four children, always encouraging them to pursue their goals and
celebrating their many achievements. Her support was steady and selfless, and her pride in her
children knew no bounds. She nourished her family in every sense of the word—through her love,
guidance, and the countless meals prepared with fruits and vegetables she carefully canned from her
own garden.
She found immense joy in gardening, and her beautiful flower beds reflected her patience, creativity,
and care. Her home was surrounded by color and life, a welcoming place that mirrored her generous
spirit.
Known for her sharp mind, she was a true trivia enthusiast. A regular at weekly trivia nights with the
neighborhood women at Big Pond, she delighted in friendly competition and camaraderie. Armed with
her impressive knowledge she celebrated numerous trivia victories, always with a smile and good
humor.
