Richard Sinsabaugh, 61, of Athens Township, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on January 28, 1963 in Waverly, NY to Beverly and the late Leon
“Bud” Sinsabaugh. Richard was a graduate of Waverly High School, class of 1981. Over
the years he was employed by John H. Murray, Janiak Landscaping, and most recently
Chesapeake.
In his younger adult years Richard spent a great amount of time playing softball
at Quinlan Park in Waverly for Bill and Bud’s and then later coaching his daughters
throughout their softball years. He loved Nascar racing and local tracks, especially
watching his great nephew, Chase Sinsabaugh.
He was an avid hunter with many hunting buddies. He was so happy to be able
to enjoy one last deer and turkey season. He had a love for the Tennessee Titans and
playing cornhole in many local tournaments and spent many Wednesday nights tossing
the bags at Tanner’s Bar and Grill. Most of all, Richard loved time spent with his family
and many friends, especially time with his grandchildren.
Richard was pre-deceased by his father, Leon, and his grandson, Austin
Streeter. Richard is survived his mother, Beverly, daughters Shauna (Elmer Apgar) and
Kelli Sinsabaugh, granddaughters Kennadie and Kaidence Cochrane, and the mother of
his children, Valarie King, and his significant other, Lezley Gehman. He is also survived
by his brothers, Gary Sinsabaugh, Terry (Robin) Sinsabaugh, Jerry (Diana)
Sinsabaugh, and Greg (Bobbi) Sinsabaugh along with several nephews, a niece, and
other extended family.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, May 26, 2024 from 2-4 pm, with a
service following immediately after, at Encounter Church in Milan, PA.
