Susan C. (Stranger) Aumick

Susan C. Aumick, 69, of Chemung, NY, passed away on Sunday May 28, 2023 at the Robert Packer Hospital after a brief illness.  

Susan was born on January 23, 1954 at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, NY, the daughter of Elmer and Phyllis Stranger.  She graduated from Elmira Free Academy and Corning Community College to become a registered nurse. 

Susan was an enthusiastic photographer and loved to compile photos and videos to make home movies. Along with those movies, she would often pen an sweet or silly poem.  She enjoyed local history and prided herself in her knowledge of the same.  Susan enjoyed collecting antiques and oddities and selling her finds at the local flea markets with her husband Mike. Susan fondly recalled baking hundreds of cookies and pies with her mother and grandmother for church bake sales and family functions.  Most of all, she absolutely adored spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Susan is predeceased by her beloved husband Merrill (Mike) Aumick, her beautiful daughter Christina Bingham, brother James Stranger and sister Sharron Schmidt.

Susan is survived by her son, Charles (Brie) Bingham, stepson Robert Aumick, brother David (Rhonda) Stranger, brother Robert Stranger, sister Donna Morgan, granddaughter Taylor (Dalton) Spencer, granddaughter Jordan (Kody) Howe, grandson Alex Bingham, granddaughter Jasmine Colon, granddaughter Mackenzie Bingham, granddaughter Kadisha (Brian) Webb, grandchildren Sophia, Ayden, Ally, Luca, Paisley, Delaney, Octavia, Lane, Liam, Levi and soon-to-arrive Maddie as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.  

Rest in peace, Mom.  We know you are happy to be in God's embrace.

A graveside service will be held for family and friends at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to either Greater Valley EMS or the Chemung, NY Fire Department in her memory.  Cremation arrangements are in the care of Thomas Cremation and Funeral Services,1297 Elmira St., Sayre, Pa.
