Susan Oetting, 79, passed away peacefully in Elmira, New York. Born in Waverly, New York, she carried a deep connection to her hometown throughout her life.
She was the daughter of Winifred and Martin Brennan, who preceded her in death, as well as her brothers John and Donald Brennan and her sister-in-law Connie Brennan.
Susan is survived by her children, Denise and Mark Cron; and Kyle and Kerry Oetting . She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren, Coty and Emily Cron; and Victoria and Alec Eckert. She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Hudson Cron.
She is further survived by her siblings: Karen Brennan and Morgan; Mary Therese Collins and Marc; Larry Brennan; and Richard Brennan and Sonya, her sister-in-law Julie Brennan along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A graduate of Waverly High School’s Class of 1965, Susan was well known as “the lovely lottery lady” at Carl’s Newsstand, where she worked for many years and became a familiar, friendly face to all who stopped in.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 14th, from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the South Waverly Community Hall. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of her life, her warmth, and the love she shared so generously.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
