Teresa Kara Traver “Oz” passed away peacefully on the 11th of October,2025 at the age of 62.
She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed
by all who knew and loved her.
Born on January 20th, 1963 in Sayre, PA. Teresa was the daughter of Bruce and Mary Lou
Osborn. She graduated from Sayre High School in 1982. She was “THE” athlete in the family for
the Sayre Redskins, competing in softball and swimming/diving. She was a star shortstop in
mixed leagues softball and even good enough to play in the men’s league. This is where she
met her husband of forty beautiful years, David “Trav” Traver. Her first job was at Pete’s
Newsstand, where she worked under the guidance of art teacher and friend Pete Fariello. Then
worked at the Sayre Post Office and finished out at Mills Pride (Masco) before retiring.
Teresa was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, competitiveness, and sense of humor.
She had a deep and strong love for animals. She loved watching big, beautiful skies/sunsets on
the back deck, feeding her furry friends. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch with her children
and watching storms roll through, staring at the stars, reading books especially by James
Patterson, playing catch with her kids, but music and dancing were when you really saw OZ.
Her life was a reflection of enjoying every second of life, standing up for yourself, and standing
up to the big bully. She was never a quitter and a fighter until the very end. “There is no where
to go but up!”
She is survived by spouse-David Keith Traver, her children, Matthew (Cristin), Lucas, and
Nichole Graf (Kenny), her grandchild, Charlotte Graf, her siblings, Laura Gorman (Bill), Jim
Osborn (Lisa), Anne Osborn, Mary Kay Kelley, Nina Osborn(sister-in-law-William), her in-laws,
Bob Traver (Joey), Kathy Traver, Aunt Alice Macynski, and a plethora of nieces, nephews,
grand nieces and nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by best friend Margaret Bidlack
who was always by her side in times of need.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Bruce and Mary Lou
Osborn, her brother William “The Doctor” Osborn and Robert & Mary Traver.
In a proper Irish family
fashion, Teresa was surrounded by an exceptional amount of familial love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on the 18th of October 2025 at the Sayre Elks Banquet Hall. A
private celebration for family and close friends will be from 4:00pm-6:00pm. An open celebration
for all other friends will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm. All who knew Teresa are welcome to attend
and celebrate her life.
