Walter D. Scudder,88, formerly of Sayre, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at The Dar-Way Nursing Home in Forksville, Pa. with his loving wife Della by his side. Don was born in Sayre on May 23, 1936. He was a veteran in the Army where he worked as a medic. He then worked at Hardinge Brothers for thirty-eight plus years.
Don enjoyed square dancing, church, PTA, Band boosters, community work and senior citizens. He had many collections that included:guns,belt buckles, knives, and antiques.
Don was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Lula Scudder and his daughter Lucinda. Also his sister Dorothy Jean Secrist, brother in-law Dale Secrist, and his niece Pam Secrist.
Don is survived by his wife Della Scudder, his sons: Neal and Wayne (Terry) Scudder, his grandsons: Scott (Natasha) Eston, Michael (Laura) Elston, Evan Scudder, and Lucas (Destiny) Scudder, his son-in law: Charles Brown, his great- grandson: Theodore Scudder, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Monday November 4, 2024 at 11 AM at Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, Pa. with full military honors being accorded.
